Frequently asked questions
What counts as a learner?
A learner is anyone who begins an AI literacy session. Completion isn't required — a learner is counted the moment they start.
What happens if we run out of learners mid-year?
You buy another pack. That's it — no service interruption, no penalty rates, no "gotcha" charges. Your dashboard shows your running count and we'll send a heads-up when you're approaching your limit.
Do unused learners roll over?
Yes. Packs you purchase during a subscription year roll over for 12 months from the purchase date. Your included 100 resets at each annual renewal.
Why packs instead of per-seat?
Packs let you plan for reach as a budget decision, not a monthly variable. Decide how many patrons you want to serve this year, buy that capacity, and go promote the tool without watching a meter. If you exceed your packs, buying more costs the same per-learner rate — no overage penalty.
Is one subscription one library, or one branch?
One subscription covers one library system — all branches included, no limits on physical locations. Separate independent library systems (for example, in a shared consortium) each need their own subscription. Contact us for consortium quotes.
Is there a contract or minimum commitment?
Annual subscription via our standard service agreement — no multi-year commitment required. Billed upfront. If PLAID3 isn't working for your community, don't renew — no questions asked.
Will my rate change at renewal?
Your price is locked for your first renewal — year two is at the same rate as year one. You'll get at least 60 days' notice of any rate change at subsequent renewals.
How does billing work?
Annual invoice via ACH, check, purchase order, or credit card. We invoice a week before your renewal date and give you 30 days to pay. Additional learner packs are invoiced separately as you purchase them.
We're grant-funded. Can the subscription fit in a grant budget?
Yes. The annual subscription is a clean, citable line item, and our invoices include the detail your grant reporting needs. We've worked with libraries funded by IMLS, state library grants, and local foundations.
What's included for support?
Email support with responses within one business day, a live onboarding call at launch, and a mid-year check-in. Larger systems get dedicated Slack or Teams channels with the PLAID3 team.
