Open Notebook is a powerful tool for managing multiple documents and knowledge sources and projects. It's feature-comparable with Google's NotebookLM product, while still being open source and customizable. We use this for a variety of AI hackathons and training sessions; get in touch if you need an AI notebook for your library!

Notebook tools like Open Notebook and NotebookLM are powerful tools for research, knowledge management, project management, and more! We use Open Notebook, an open source version of NotebookLM, for some of our training classes. Notebook tools allow you to manage projects - each project can have its own knowledge base, notes, and documents. In addition, an AI chatbot "lives" in the notebook and can chat with the user as well as analyze the knowledge base and create new documents.

One of the neat features of Open Notebook is the Podcast tool: simply upload documents about a subject, click the Podcast button, and the app will generate a synthetic podcast, featuring synthetic people discussing your document subject in podcast-syle format. Of course, NotebookLM was the first to do this but the Open Notebook team is doing their best to stay feature-comparable.
